The Hollywood Elite and the Progressive Virus

CERTAIN DEMOGRAPHIC GROUPS ARE particularly susceptible to the progressive virus. One group that deserves our attention is made up of the so-called Hollywood elite.

Recall that Descartes asserted “Je pense donc je suis”; (I think, therefore I am) and that Sartre believed that he could become anything he imagined. This reminds me of a rather well known book on acting entitled: Acting is Believing.

A key component of the progressive virus is that it convinces its victim that he or she can become anything or anyone by adopting a role or thinking it. Recall that being wealthy removes natural immune system barriers and makes it easier for the virus to commandeer the machinery of the mind. Add to that recipe the fact that mind-altering substances exacerbate the infection with the progressive virus. Look closely and you will see that the lives of Hollywood’s elite constitute the perfect medium within which the progressive virus can flourish.

Southern California, especially the Westside and Hollywood in Los Angeles County, are hot spots for posh-progressives who spout and promote progressive dogma using their presentation talent and financial wherewithal to infect others. Challenge progressive dogma and you can expect to be attacked first, and perhaps most viciously, by the Hollywood elite.

Ben Shapiro has researched Hollywood’s elite. Shapiro, a Harvard trained lawyer, and author of Primetime Propaganda: The True Hollywood Story of How the Left Took Over Your TV , studied how the Hollywood progressive colony is dedicated to infecting the public when they consume media the elite produce, direct, write and act in.

Shapiro interviewed more than one hundred of the industry’s biggest players, including Larry Gelbart (M*A*S*H), Fred Silverman (former president of ABC Entertainment, NBC, and vice president of programming at CBS), Marta Kauffman (Friends), David Shore (House), and Mark Burnett (Survivor). Many of these insiders boast that not only is Hollywood biased against conservatives, but that many of the shows being broadcast have secret or subliminal political messages. One thing Shapiro clearly demonstrated is that Hollywood is a “closed shop.” Those not infected with the progressive virus, that is, conservatives, are persona non grata and need not apply.

“Friends creator Marta Kauffman acknowledged that she consciously put together a writing staff “of mostly liberal people.” When asked if conservatives are discriminated against in Hollywood, writer-director Nicholas Meyer responded: “Well, I hope so.” When Shapiro interviewed Laugh-In creator George Schlatter, he was treated to a lengthy diatribe about the “balloon buffoon” Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter, whom he said represented: “one of the main reasons we should legalize abortion but make it retroactive.” {114}

In a particularly brilliant study on the subject of Hollywood and its political inclinations, Clemson professors Todd D. Kendall and John E. Walker conducted research entitled: An Empirical Analysis of Political Activity in Hollywood. In their abstract they wrote this:
